2023 Alumni Achievement Award Winner
Caitlyn Robinson | M.Ed. in Special Education (2020), M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership (2022)
Caitlyn Robinson has served more than 20 years as an educator in early childhood settings. She received her bachelor of science degree in elementary education in 2007 from Louisiana State University. She spent her teaching career focused on including children with disabilities into pre-k and kindergarten classrooms as an inclusion teacher. In 2022, she became the Part B, Section 619 Coordinator for the Louisiana Department of Education. She also serves on the National Association of State Directors of Special Education 619 Affinity Group Executive Council. Caitlyn received her M.Ed. in Special Education in 2020 and M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership in 2022, both from ACE.
As a parent of a child with a disability, Caitlyn sees how quality programs have the ability to change the trajectory of a child’s life. In January 2022, Caitlyn and two other parents created SpedTacular Kids of Central, an inclusive community of exceptional families who meet during monthly social events. In April 2023, she started the Central Inclusive League, providing 61 children and their families with an opportunity play baseball in an inclusive environment. Caitlyn’s time and experiences at ACE provided her with the voice she needed to positively impact the lives of children with disabilities in her professional practice and in the community around her.
