Are you still looking for ways to make your virtual or hybrid instruction engaging and effective? One of the best parts about online instruction is that there are plenty of instructional tools out there that you can explore. Here are some useful websites and resources that can help make virtual learning more manageable and exciting for students. (And all these sites are free for educators!)

Classkick

Classkick allows you to upload assignments and watch while your students work on them in real time. With this look into your students’ assignment screens, you can easily address mistakes as they arise. Students also can “raise their hand” and ask for assistance. You can grade assignments on this platform as well.

Teachers Pay Teachers

TPT is a loved teacher resource, known for housing a huge selection of teaching materials created and sold by other teachers. Recently, they’ve added features with virtual instruction in mind. Now, you can access many worksheets online instead of printing them. Students can access the resources you choose from their home devices, allowing you to give them a fun and varied learning experience.

Epic Books

Epic Books is a free library of thousands of books that can be accessed by teachers and students. You can assign reading to your students and track the number of active minutes they read. You can also allow students to search for books that interest them. Add your students to your class roster and work toward class reading goals or create virtual reading groups.

Flipgrid

Flipgrid is an interactive website that helps students connect via video. Students love this site because they can edit videos and use filters like their favorite social media platforms. Set up a question on your classroom page and students will record their response as a video. They can also record responses to each other, which allows them to connect and build friendships even when they are learning remotely.
