Transfer Credit
Bring your learning with you.
Make Your Prior Learning Count
American College of Education (ACE) accepts traditional college credits and nontraditional learning from a variety of sources. We’ll review what you’ve already accomplished and help you apply it toward your degree – because your time and knowledge have value.
Traditional Transfer Credit
From Another College
We accept credits earned at accredited postsecondary institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Whether you started elsewhere or took courses years ago, we’ll evaluate how your prior coursework applies to your degree at ACE.
Articulation Agreements
ACE partners with community colleges and organizations to provide streamlined credit transfer options. View our established partnerships to see if your institution has an agreement with us.
Transfer Credit Review
We can quickly review your prior academic credits for alignment with your program of interest before you submit your application so that you’ll know exactly how many credits you can transfer in.
- Bachelor’s completion degree prospective students (including RN to BSN and RN to MSN): Submit the General Education Review Request.
- Ed.S. or ABD students considering an Ed.D. pathway: Submit the Ed.D. Pathway Review Form.
- All other prospective students: Submit the Transfer Credit Application Form accessible in MyACE Portal. You’ll need to start an application to connect the review with your record.
For detailed transfer credit policies by program level, see the Transfer Requirements and Exclusions policies in our College Catalog.

Nontraditional Transfer Credit
ACE values knowledge earned through alternative pathways that don’t necessarily involve a classroom. We evaluate credit from the following sources and will determine how it may apply to your program of study:
- Nationally recognized exams (AP, CLEP, IB, Dantes, and more)
- Military training and service
- American Council on Education and National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) approved courses
- Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) of a non-credit course, program or certificate offered by a third-party provider, including partner organizations with articulation agreements:
For more information, see our Transfer Credit policies or contact an Enrollment Counselor at 1-800-280-0307, option 2.

Transfer Credit Process & Policies
After you submit your credits, you’ll receive an email with your transfer credit decision. Review it carefully and reach out if you have questions.
Please note that ACE does not accept transfer credit for dedicated first courses, field experiences or capstone projects – these essential program components must be completed at ACE.
If you have questions about a decision, you can submit an appeal under our General Appeal policy.
