You could complete an initial teacher licensure program from ACE and apply it to Michigan’s out-of-state licensure requirements to obtain your Michigan teaching certificate.

Michigan requires teacher candidates educated at an out-of-state school to hold an out-of-state teaching license before applying for a Michigan teaching certificate. As such, Michigan residents who complete ACE’s initial teacher licensure programs will first be licensed in ACE’s home state of Indiana

The Michigan Department of Education conducts credential reviews to determine whether an applicant’s certification and exams align with Michigan standards. Do not register for any Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTCs) until you receive an evaluation letter informing you of what tests to take, if any.
