Teaching in Arizona

You could complete an initial teacher licensure program from ACE and apply it to Arizona’s out-of-state licensure requirements to obtain your Arizona teaching license.

Licensure Reciprocity

Arizona recommends that teacher candidates educated at an out-of-state school hold an out-of-state teaching license before applying for an Arizona license. As such, Arizona residents who complete ACE’s initial teacher licensure programs should first be licensed in ACE’s home state of Indiana and then apply for their comparable initial license in Arizona. Individuals who qualify under Certification Reciprocity Rules are exempt from Arizona educator exam requirements.

Please be aware that applicants coming from another state are required to have U.S. Constitution and Arizona State Constitution. These are allowable deficiencies for one or three years, depending on the area of certification, and the certificate will be issued without meeting these requirements.
