American College of Education®(ACE) was presented the 2023 Corporate Volunteerism Award by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development Serve Indiana (SIAE). Serve Indiana’s executive director, Stefonie Sebastian, presented the award to ACE Chief Human Resources Officer, KK Byland, in a ceremony at the Indiana Historical Society in downtown Indianapolis in mid-November.

Byland shares sentiments at the Serve Indiana ceremony.

Recipients included individuals and corporations who are committed to volunteering and serving Indiana communities. The award was designed to recognize such efforts and the positive impact they make for others. Businesses with a significant presence in Indiana, where ACE is headquartered, that have substantially contributed to the Hoosier communities were eligible to be nominated.

“ACE is honored and so excited to receive this award,” Byland said. “As an organization, we are committed to volunteering and serving others. We offer our employees 16 hours of civic paid time off to strongly encourage them to make an impact in their communities through service. This award is a meaningful testament to those efforts, and we couldn’t be more delighted.”

“It’s such a special experience to see our efforts make a difference in the lives of others,” ACE President and CEO Geordie Hyland added. “We serve our communities because we believe in extending service to those in need in ways that are positively impactful. It’s important to us that the Hoosier communities and all communities represented by our organization know that we care and want to be involved in their contributions to society. It’s an honor to receive this award.”
