At ACE, our online certificate programs are designed to help you reach specific professional goals so that you know you’re spending your time and money on exactly what you need to get ahead. Here are some of the milestones our certificates can help you accomplish:

- Getting 30 additional graduate credits which may elevate your salary tier
- Understanding how to develop programs that teach adults
- Developing leadership and coaching skills

Certificate Admission
Along with ACE’s general admission requirements, our certificates have minimum GPA requirements that must be met for admission. For most certificates, you must hold a degree at the bachelor’s level with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for full admission. However, this varies from program to program.
Some certificate programs also require additional documentation, such as an initial teaching license or an active, unencumbered RN license. Find detailed admission requirements for your program of interest on the program’s page.

Certificate FAQs
Are online certificates worth it?
Yes! Certificate programs are an opportunity for you to learn new skills or strengthen existing ones without needing to pursue another degree. You also get the advantage of putting another academic program on your resume, which you may not get if you take a one-off online course or webinar.
How long does it take to complete an online certificate program?
The length of your certificate program will vary depending on how many courses it has. Our shortest certificate program takes three months to complete.* On average, our typical certificate program takes around nine months to complete.*
What is the difference between an online certificate program and a master’s degree?
The biggest difference is that certificates are not degrees. The level of coursework in your certificate might be at the master’s level, but earning a full master’s degree will require more credits, courses and sometimes the completion of a culminating project. For that reason, certificates take much less time to complete. They also cost less.
Do employers care about certificates?
Yes! Having certificates on your resume provides proof that you have skills and knowledge in those particular areas, helping you stand out from the crowd. In some industries, certain certificates are required for specific roles. If you are looking for a way to demonstrate your readiness to move up or move on, a certificate may be just what you need.
