At American College of Education (ACE), we understand that pursuing a degree is a significant decision, particularly for adult learners balancing work, family and personal responsibilities. Our programs are delivered online* for maximum flexibility, but your educational journey is never something you must navigate alone.

ACE offers a comprehensive online college student support system that ensures you have access to resources that make virtual education effective and engaging. This guide is designed to explore the full range of student support resources available at ACE. These services are intentionally integrated into our virtual learning environment, reflecting our commitment to student success and achievement.

Online Learning at ACE

All ACE courses are delivered through a virtual learning platform that combines flexibility with structure. Assignments follow a predictable schedule, which helps students plan their time effectively and balance personal, professional and academic commitments.

Although the format is fully online, ACE intentionally cultivates a connected and collaborative learning community. Canvas, our learning management system (LMS), organizes course materials, assignments, grades and instructor communication, while Harmonize provides interactive discussion tools.

Personalized Support: More Than a Student Success Initiative

At ACE, every student is paired with two key staff members who specialize in adult learner support and help you achieve success.

This team-based approach ensures a smooth transition into ACE’s online platform and gives students a clear understanding of what to expect in their first term.

          • A doctoral student may combine Student Commons resources, faculty feedback, and coaching to manage research and time effectively.
          • Students new to online learning can leverage Canvas tutorials, participate in Harmonize discussions, and consult their Success Coach or Tutor.com when needed.

          Continued Support After Graduation

Many resources, such as the library, remain available to ACE alumni. The knowledge and skills students gain through these support tools continue to enhance professional performance long after graduation. Alumni often share that writing, research, time management, and critical thinking skills learned at ACE strengthen their careers and leadership potential.

Navigating ACE’s Online Support Services Portal

Students benefit most from support when they actively engage with available resources. Strategies include:

          • Exploring MyACE and Canvas early: Familiarize yourself with Student Commons and its writing, tutoring and library tools.
          • Using tutoring proactively: Regular sessions prevent challenges from accumulating.
          • Connecting with your Student Success Coach: Success Coaches help with planning, time management and academic navigation.
          • Participating in course discussions: Canvas and Harmonize make it easier to collaborate with classmates and deepen understanding.
          • Contacting DSS early if accommodations are needed: Early requests allow time for effective support.
