Are you a doomscroller? With the amount of screen time a lot of us are having, it’s important that we give ourselves room away from stressful headlines and unproductive internet comments. Our social media feeds should also feature information and people that serve us.

These five social media accounts are a great place to start if you’re looking to add more smile-worthy content to your feed.

Gretchen Rubin

Inspiration, great book recommendations, fun articles and more – that’s what you can expect from Gretchen on Twitter. She is known for some of the most popular self-help books of our time. Her podcast, Happier, is also a great listen when you need a dose of positivity to start your day. She’ll even help you better understand your personality with her Four Tendencies Quiz, which can be found in her Twitter bio.

Positively Present

This Instagram account focuses on living in the moment and enjoying life right where you are. Beautiful graphics and illustrations serve as great visuals to accompany messages about mental health support and inspirational quotes. One of the great things about this account is that it doesn’t shy away from the difficult but instead gives tips on how to embrace life’s challenges. The motto of this account is that life truly is better if you strive to live positively each day.

TED Conferences

Let the learner in you soar with TED Conferences. This LinkedIn account highlights some of the best TED Talks on a variety of topics. From goal setting to workplace productivity, there’s a nugget of wisdom for everyone. Additionally, pay attention to the discussions that happen in post comments. You may learn something new or find some great new individuals to connect with on the platform.

Happy Teacher Revolution

This account documents a movement to put teachers’ well-being first. Danna Thomas, founder and CEO of Happy Teacher Revolution, is a former Baltimore City Public School teacher turned entrepreneur and mental health advocate. You’ll find a plethora of resources and feel-good posts on her Instagram and website. Each month, she also releases free digital wallpapers to give your digital devices a pop.

Dalai Lama

If you are not already following the Dalai Lama on Twitter, this is your sign to do that. His daily tidbits of wisdom always hit you right in the feels. Messages like “real beauty is inner beauty” and “compassion is the basis of survival” are great ones to read as you start your day. Grab a cup of coffee and scroll his feed to get the reminders we could all use to live a happier and more fulfilled life.
