RN to MSN program helps meet Indiana’s demand for nurses with advanced degrees
INDIANAPOLIS – To meet the demand for graduate-level nurses in Indiana, American College of Education, one of the nation’s leading online universities for graduate-level degrees in education, will launch a Registered Nurse (RN) to Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) graduate nursing program for the upcoming August term.
The demand for graduate-prepared nurses is expected to be twice the supply in the near future (Dracup, 2016). The accelerated, 30-month RN to MSN program provides a seamless experience for registered nurses to expand their professional education, achieving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) along the pathway to the MSN. Most courses run five weeks in length, with the Focus of Study options geared toward preparation of nurse educators and nurse administrators.
“The shortage of nursing professionals, together with the aging population and complex healthcare system, creates a critical need for nurses with advanced degrees,” said Claudia Mitchell, assistant provost of healthcare professions at American College of Education. “Our new online RN to MSN program is technologically rich, competitively priced and provides registered nurses with an affordable, high quality, and flexible education option to achieve a graduate degree in nursing.”
The new program is completed online with required practicum experience conducted with a local, qualified preceptor and online faculty. For working nurses who seek to advance their careers, online education has become an increasingly popular option.
The first class of American College of Education nursing students will begin August 20. Visit https://www.ace.edu/RNtoMSN to learn more.
